First, go to the thrift store and buy a really cool area rug for $30. Roll it out on the hardwood floor in your new rental house. Brag about it to anyone who will listen. Post pictures of it on Facebook and send pics of it via email. Sit and stare at it with amazement and sheer joy every day for a month or so.
